Integrative
Psychiatry

Mood, anxiety, sleep, and recovery — treated the way the rest of medicine should be: whole system, root causes, and one physician with the time to look.

Mental health is
physical health

Depression and anxiety are real illnesses — and they are rarely just brain chemistry. Sleep debt, thyroid and hormone shifts, inflammation, blood sugar swings, gut trouble, chronic pain, medication side effects, and the weight of a life all feed the same symptoms. Care that only adjusts one variable — the prescription — often leaves the rest of the system pulling the other way.

Dr. Starsiak approaches psychiatry the way osteopathic medicine approaches everything: find the drivers, rank the leverage points, and use every tool that fits. That includes conventional psychiatric medication when it's the right call, lab work that's actually reviewed, hands-on osteopathic treatment for a nervous system stuck in high alert, herbs with honest evidence framing, and — for the situations that call for them — ketamine-assisted therapy and medication-assisted addiction care. Not anti-medication, not medication-only: whatever moves you most, first.

Integrative Psychiatry — FAQs

What does "integrative psychiatry" mean at this clinic?

It means mental health is evaluated and treated as part of the whole body, by one physician. Conventional psychiatric medication, lab work, hormones, sleep, gut health, osteopathic treatment, evidence-calibrated herbs, ketamine-assisted therapy, and addiction medicine are all on the table — chosen by evidence and leverage for your situation, not by ideology.

Can you work alongside my current psychiatrist or therapist?

Yes. Many patients keep their existing prescriber or therapist, and Dr. Starsiak coordinates with them — often covering the physical side of the picture that a brief medication check can't reach. Others manage their mood and anxiety care entirely here as part of primary care. Ongoing talk therapy is actively encouraged, not replaced.

Will my current medications be changed or stopped?

Not abruptly, and never without a plan. Medications that are serving you stay. If a change makes sense, it happens gradually, with monitoring and a clear reason — and you'll understand the why at every step.

When does ketamine become part of the plan?

When depression, PTSD, or chronic pain haven't responded to well-run conventional treatment, ketamine-assisted therapy is one of the most useful remaining options — a meaningful share of treatment-resistant patients respond, often within days. It always begins with a thorough evaluation, never as a standalone product.

Is this care confidential?

Completely. Mental health and addiction care here are private, respectful, and free of judgment — delivered in a calm, non-clinical setting where the real work of recovery can happen.
