EMSELLA® PELVIC FLOOR TREATMENT

Sudden urges to rush to the bathroom can take a serious toll on our lives. This form of urinary incontinence can appear due to the weakening of pelvic floor muscles over time and especially after childbirth or menopause. Your pelvic floor muscles are primarily there to support your bladder and the other organs located above your pelvic shelf. When these muscles weaken due to pregnancy, trauma, or the genetic result of aging, urinary incontinence can develop or get worse. In the past, kegel exercises, or similar pelvic floor exercises were the only option to combat this issue. Fortunately, our team at Starsiak Osteopathic Clinic now offers Emsella®, a non-invasive and non-intensive solution designed to help you feel better.

WHAT IS AN EMSELLA® PELVIC FLOOR TREATMENT?

Emsella® is a revolutionary device that relies on high-frequency electromagnetic stimulation (HIFEM), not surgery, to stimulate your pelvic muscles. The release of this energy offers thousands of times the power of any kegel workout.
Based on the same principle as Emsculpt® body contouring for abdominal and gluteal toning, Emsella® can give you stronger, more supportive pelvic muscles fast without pain or effort on your part. This procedure is simple and the results can help you regain urinary control for good.

WHAT DOES EMSELLA® ADDRESS?

This exceptional muscle contracting treatment is primarily used to address urinary incontinence and similar vaginal health concerns. As we get older, the need for pelvic floor maintenance increases, especially for women undergoing menopause. While traditional methods such as exercise can be laborious and time-consuming, Emsella® pelvic floor treatments can offer excellent results in little time.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Emsella® treatments involve the use of a “throne.” When you arrive at our Indianapolis medspa, you will simply sit down and relax while the machine does all the work. There is no invasive procedure or pre-procedure preparation needed. As the device stimulates your pelvic floor muscles, you are welcome to read a book, look at your tablet, or even meditate! One BTL Emsella® lasts roughly 30 minutes and is equivalent to 11,200 kegel reps.

WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

In order to get the best results, we recommend six treatment sessions spaced at two treatments a week. We also recommend one maintenance treatment every 3-4 months. That being said, some noticeable effects can be felt after each treatment with this device. Following your visit, you can experience ease in incontinence symptoms and an increase in general comfort. In fact, after six, 30-minute treatments over three weeks, 95% of patients across multiple studies have reported improved quality of life, with an impressive 75% reduction in pad use.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"We can't recommend Dr. Starsiak and his approach enough!! He is wonderful. Our 8 week old daughter cried constantly from day 1. She only slept 4-6 hours every 24 hour period. Mostly in 30 minute increments. While this was draining on her mom and I, we were mainly concerned about our daughter's well being. She seemed like she was constantly in pain. Other doctors and professionals we talked to shrugged it off to, 'she's just a baby' or 'she's probably just colicky'. We are so thrilled we took her to Dr. Starsiak. He identified that she was in pain due to her long birthing and delivery process and was able to relieve that pain through his gentle process. We finally have a baby that is happy, smiling, and has relief from the pain she was experiencing.

If you have been told that your baby is 'just colicky' and they will grow out of it, you need to get a second opinion from Dr. Starsiak."
